Can there be anything much more frustrating than not being able to turn because some twit is blocking the intersection?
There is a provincial law that forbids drivers from entering an intersection if they can’t exit the other side (not for left turners, that’s ok). But many municipalities have taken that a step further with bylaws that apply that rule to all intersections, not just those controlled by lights.
However, it seems to be largely ignored by people who block the entrance to neighbourhood streets while waiting for a light change ahead. Whether it’s a by law or not surely it’s just common sense and courtesy.
